Arizona Pictures

Arizona is a great place for pictures.  Ecosystems range from Sonoran desert in the south all the way to alpine tundra in the north.  The is lots of old mining  history, huge dams, spralling cities and more.  In the north are the Navajo and Hopi indian reservations.  There you can buy pottery, jewelry, rugs, and other crafts.

Ghost towns are common, petrified wood and other semiprecious gems can be picked off the ground in many places.  (You'll be in big trouble if you do it in a park though.)  In the south are huge open pit copper mines with the interesting turquoise and other mineral associated with copper ores.

Walking Rain Gallery

This website displays only a few of our collection of Arizona pictures.  At Walking Rain Gallery we have more, as well as many pictures of other subjects.  Clicking links on this site will take you to the Arizona category of Walking Rain Gallery.  Once there you can see all of our Arizona pictures and order whatever pictures and/or products you would like.  We invite you to look around and see what we have in other categories while you are there.

About us and our Arizona pictures

We enjoy photography and use the income from sales of our pictures and products to finance more travel and photography.  However, we find the rights management conditions required by stock photo companies unreasonable.

Our copyright and digital rights management is very simple: you can do anything you want with these images, including using them for commercial products, except claim you have a copyright to the original image.  We retain the right to use the images ourselves in any way we please.  Fair enough?

We have included images on the website which are not large enough to print a 5" x 7" at 300 DPI.  The download for those is free.  We think that is a good way to let customers test our shopping cart and enjoy pictures which are to small for demanding uses.

Techniques & Technology

I got my first camera (a Nikkormat) in 1965 and have been taking pictures ever since.  We took slides for many years and then converted to film.  We finally made the move to digital and are still in the conversion process.  This and related sites are being built by converting our huge collection of negatives to digital, editing them with Photoshop, and building websites based on the pictures and our experiences taking them.  It's a lot of work so it will be a while before these sites can be considered a finished project.  We think there is a lot to enjoy in the meantime through.
